1. Plain-English Summary

FeedSort Pro is a client-side Chrome extension that ranks and filters Instagram posts and reels by engagement. Every calculation, badge, download, and Excel export runs entirely inside your browser on your device.

We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any of your data. There is no server, no account, no telemetry, and no third-party tracker anywhere in this extension.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy governs the FeedSort Pro Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store and its marketing website at feedsort.sellersuit.com. It does not cover Instagram itself, Meta Platforms, or any third-party website you may visit — those are governed by their own policies.

3. Data the Extension Handles Locally

FeedSort Pro touches two categories of data. Both stay on your device.

a) Public Instagram post metadata — transient

What: shortcodes, captions, publication timestamps, media display URLs, like/comment/view counts, and the visible username of the post's author.
Why: to compute engagement scores, apply performance badges, rank posts, enable bulk media download, and generate Excel reports.
Where it lives: volatile browser memory (RAM) for the duration of your Instagram tab or side-panel session.
When it's gone: the moment you close the tab, close the side panel, or navigate away. Nothing is written to disk except files you explicitly export.

b) Your extension preferences — persistent

What: overlay toggles, engagement formula weights, badge visibility, sort defaults.
Why: to keep your settings across sessions.
Where it lives: Chrome's chrome.storage.local on your device only. Not synced, not encrypted-in-transit anywhere because it never leaves.
When it's gone: when you clear it, uninstall the extension, or clear browser data.

c) Files you export — yours

Excel reports (.xlsx) and downloaded media are saved to your operating system's Downloads folder. Once saved, they are ordinary local files under your sole control — FeedSort Pro has no visibility into them afterward.

4. What FeedSort Pro Never Touches

Your Instagram login, session cookies, or authentication tokens.
Direct messages, stories you haven't opened, or private-account content you aren't already viewing.
Your name, email, phone number, address, or any personal identifier.
Your IP address, geolocation, device fingerprint, or advertising ID.
Your browsing history outside the Instagram tabs you actively use the extension on.
Payment information — FeedSort Pro does not process payments.

5. Chrome Permissions — Justified

The extension requests only the permissions listed below. The manifest.json shipped to the Chrome Web Store matches this list exactly.

host: instagram.com	Read public post metadata rendered on the Instagram pages you are actively viewing and inject visual performance badges onto post cards.
host: cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net	Fetch public image and video files directly from Meta's official CDNs when you choose to download media to your device.

6. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

FeedSort Pro complies with the Chrome Web Store's Limited Use requirements:

Single purpose. Sorting, scoring, and exporting engagement analytics for Instagram media the user is already authorized to view.
Minimum necessary permissions. Only the permissions in Section 5 are requested.
Use limited to the user-facing feature. Data accessed is used solely to power sorting, badges, downloads, and exports — never for advertising, market research, credit assessment, or ML training.
No transfers for unrelated purposes. There are no transfers at all.
No human access. Because nothing leaves your device, no employee, contractor, or affiliate of FeedSort Pro can read your data.

7. Relationship to Instagram / Meta

FeedSort Pro is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any of their subsidiaries. The extension operates on public post metadata visible in your own authenticated Instagram session and complies with Meta's terms as they apply to end users viewing their own feeds. Instagram trademarks belong to their owners.

8. Security

Because FeedSort Pro has no backend, entire categories of risk — server breaches, database leaks, credential exposure, insecure APIs — simply do not exist. The remaining surface is the extension code itself, which we keep minimal and Manifest V3 compliant. Media downloads use HTTPS connections directly from your browser to Meta's CDNs; those files never pass through us.

9. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and everywhere else)

Global privacy laws — including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Brazil LGPD, and Canada PIPEDA — grant rights over personal data that a company processes about you. Because FeedSort Pro processes none of your personal data on any server, these rights are satisfied by default:

Right of access / portability: nothing is held about you — there is nothing to export.
Right to deletion: uninstall the extension or clear chrome.storage.local to remove every trace.
Right to opt out of sale / sharing: not applicable — we do not sell or share data.
Right to non-discrimination: the extension works identically regardless of any privacy choice you make.

10. Children

FeedSort Pro is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because we collect no personal data, we do not knowingly process any information from children.

11. Managing & Deleting Your Data

You are always in control:

Reset preferences: open the FeedSort Pro side panel → Settings → Reset to defaults.
Clear all extension storage: chrome://settings/content/all → find FeedSort Pro → Clear data.
Uninstall: chrome://extensions → Remove. All local data is wiped immediately.
Exported files: manage your Downloads folder as you would any other local file.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the extension handles data, we will update this page, bump the "Last Updated" date at the top, and publish a corresponding extension update through the Chrome Web Store review process. Material changes will be highlighted in the extension's release notes. Continued use of FeedSort Pro after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
